Global Scientists

Three budding science communicators presented their findings to an international audience at this month’s online Global Science Show.

The virtual Science Festival on Twitter provides an opportunity for scientists across the world to come together and share their work.  During lockdown, three enthusiastic pupils recorded short videos: Talia in Year 8 presented a colourful explanation of chromatography; Chiara in Year 7 summarised what we know about dark matter and energy; and Eleanor in Year 11 gave a hands-on demonstration of non-Newtonian fluids with a bowl of cornflour.

Director of STEM, Ms Russo, commented: “The girls were in their element and presented with great clarity and confidence.  This is a fantastic platform for them to share their passion for science. They have had such positive feedback, which I hope inspires others to share their enthusiasm for STEM subjects.”
