Sustainable Fashion Fundraiser
Students encouraged the community to donate unwanted to clothes to help raise funds for those impacted by floods in Pakistan.
Students from our Social Action and Eco Committees collaborated to deliver an assembly last term, highlighting the detrimental impact of fast fashion; in a bid to reduce consumption, and to support a good cause, they asked pupils to clear out their wardrobes over the holidays. At the start of term, hundreds of donations of unwanted/outgrown items were sorted by the teams in preparation for a series of lunchtime sales. With the seminar room transformed into a buzzing charity shop, pupils brandished their proudly repurposed fashion purchases. All proceeds went to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Pakistan Floods Appeal – over £2,000 has now been raised and further donations are very welcome here.
