House Highlights

A busy spring term of inter-House activities and social breakfasts culminated in a fantastically competitive staff House netball match.

This term’s competitions ranged from House Maths to House Fashion, with pupils displaying impressive competence in their calculations and creativity in their designs, using upcycled newspapers, fabric and crisp packets to fashion innovative outfits.  A week of House Social Action saw year groups come together to raise awareness of their chosen charities with plenty of fun-filled fundraising activities – throwing wet sponges at the teachers and Head Girl, Charlotte, was a particular highlight for many.

On the final Monday of term, pupils paid for front row seats at the eagerly-anticipated House staff netball match, which raised £650 for local charity, The Winch.  Sixth Form Netball captains acted as coaches for their House team, with other student netballers involved in umpiring, scoring and commentating.

Participating teachers and support staff wholeheartedly demonstrated the school values of Courage and Commitment and, in some cases, Aspiration and Creativity. As the ball was vigorously lobbed around the sports hall and, occasionally, into the net, they truly embodied our ethos of inclusive excellence. Well done to all our players and supporters for their enthusiasm, with a special shout out to this year’s winners, Potter.
