Pride Week

Each year, our students organise colourful Pride Week activities to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and champion positive progress.

Ahead of LGBT+ History Month, students from our Diversity & Inclusion team decorated the school in a rainbow of colour and played uplifting tracks each morning. Drop-in activities included badge-making,  bracelet-making and nail-painting to encourage self-expression, while students were invited to submit creative works for an art competition. Pride representatives also gave a powerful assembly highlighting the importance of continued progress towards equality, acceptance and inclusion, both locally and globally. The whole school community was encouraged to wear rainbow-colours for the day – a theme wholeheartedly embraced by our Music Department who dressed in a kaleidoscope of shades, whilst playing the Piano, Recorder, Instruments, Drums and Egg Shakers to spell out Pride!
