Eco Week
Our Sixth Form Eco Committee, Eco Reps and staff organised a range of activities to inspire the community to effect change.
Our student-led Eco Week aims to encourage the whole school community to reflect on how to make a positive difference. This year, Senior School students arranged an action-packed schedule of events: film screenings, an eco-poppy making workshop for Remembrance Day, sustainable period product giveaways, and a lunchtime citizens’ assembly on how to motivate staff and pupils to take action. At a mid-week Eco Fair, pupils and staff sold a wonderful array of homemade gifts to raise funds for charities, whilst the new seventh floor garden oasis was filled with pupils eager to try free samples of sustainable snacks. Following a popular clothes swap event, staff ended the week by strutting onto the stage to showcase their own pre-loved, eco-friendly outfits with great panache.
Our annual Eco Week aims to kickstart meaningful conversations and inspire change as we continue to embed sustainability into our whole school curriculum and encourage pupils to become informed and proactive global citizens.
