Pride Week

Our Diversity & Inclusion team organised a week of activities to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues.

At a special assembly exploring how Pride is celebrated around the world, Sixth Formers shared their experiences of attending a Pride festival, offering valuable insights into the importance of these events. We took the opportunity to reflect on how we have embraced an annual Pride Week to educate everyone about the diverse identities within the LGBTQ+ community.

One of the week’s highlights was a Pride flag scavenger hunt, with students eagerly searching for a different flag each day and learning about its meaning. Rainbow laces, Pride-themed temporary tattoos and a colourful scrunchie-making workshop allowed students to show their support in a kaleidoscope of creative ways.  It was inspiring to see students and staff come together to champion the LGBTQ+ community – through learning, engagement and celebration – reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity and acceptance at South Hampstead.
