1876 Society Hits 100
We are pleased to welcome the 100th member to South Hampstead’s 1876 Society, which supports our ‘Opening Doors’ Bursary Campaign.
Named after our founding year, the 1876 Society recognises those who have committed to supporting families who would not otherwise be able to afford the fees. Members of the society have pledged a regular annual gift of at least £1,876, or have donated the equivalent of a full fee place or more. Their contributions help ensure that South Hampstead remains true to the founding ideals of the Girls’ Day School Trust, providing education and opportunity to bright young women, regardless of social and economic background.
“One of the school’s greatest strengths has always been the social diversity of its intake… By joining the 1876 Society, we can continue to welcome the brightest and most talented pupils, regardless of family income.” – 1876 Society founding member and Junior School parent
The society was launched at our Opening Doors dinner in 2021 and we held our first meeting last May. Our next 1876 Society meeting will be held on Thursday 18th May. Find out more and join the 1876 Society here; alternatively, visit our support us page or contact development@shhs.gdst.net
