GCSE and A Level artists have been experimenting with different media to develop their skills.

A Level artists enjoyed a day with award-winning photographer Alys Tomlinson, who started out taking photos for Time Out in New York and is about to release her first film, Mother Vera. Working alongside our students, she demonstrated her practice and use of a 5×4 film camera. Students had the opportunity to take their own large format photographs on direct positive paper and develop them in the darkroom, learning lots of new techniques, as showcased in the gallery above.

Meanwhile, Year 10 GCSE students took part in a drawing workshop, focusing on the urban landscape; students mixed iconic London landmarks and imaginary landscapes using poetry as a basis of their drawings, as shown above.
