Biology Awards

Each year, over 60,000 students enter national Biology competitions, with top scorers awarded medals.

The UKBC competitions are run in collaboration with the Royal Society of Biology and the University of Warwick. The Biology Challenge aims to stimulate students’ curiosity for the natural world, covering a broad range of topics beyond the curriculum.

Congratulations to all our GCSE Biologists in Year 10 who took part this year, with a special mention to our 19 commended/highly commended pupils; 13 Bronze medallists; 2 Silver medallists (Isabella and Rosie) and 2 Gold medallists (Chiara and Juliette). In the Intermediate Olympiad, 5 A Level students were commended/highly commended, 7 were awarded Bronze medals, 4 Silver, and 2 Gold – congratulations to Jenny and Hannah S. Only those scoring in the top 5% of all entries are awarded Gold medals.
