Class of 2024 Farewell
We thanked our Upper Sixth leavers for their contribution to school life at a special valedictory ceremony.
Following their red carpet welcome and a rooftop drinks reception, students, parents and staff assembled in Waterlow Hall for a prizegiving ceremony, where tutors presented each girl with a specially chosen book and valedictory report in a pupil-designed tote bag. Mrs Paul praised the girls for their intellectual spark, zest for life, and exemplary compassion for others, before handing over to Head Girl, Emilie: “South Hampstead has taught me that learning is a lifelong adventure… every challenge has been a stepping stone towards greater knowledge and self-discovery. South Hampstead is not a place, it is a people… and the friends we made along the way.”
Director of Sixth Form, Mr White, added: “When Edmund Hillary reached the summit of Everest, he looked out from the top of the world and did not see the end of his journey; he saw yet more opportunity for adventure and looked to the peak of Makalu and began plotting the route for his next adventure. I hope that you are now looking out from your mountain top with excitement at the adventures to come. Whatever happens in August, I want you to know we are proud of you.”
As parents departed, students joined the dancefloor for a memorable evening marking the start of their adventures ahead.
