Computational Thinking
Year 7 Computer Scientists competed in the Junior UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge again this year, with outstanding results.
The competition challenges the girls to use their logical thinking skills to solve a range of fun and engaging Computer Science problems. Organised by the University of Oxford, the competition attracted over 87,000 entrants this year.
The girls excelled, with 34% of pupils achieving a Gold Award (placing them in the top 10% nationally in their age category), and 70% achieving a score placing them in the top 25% nationally – an outstanding performance of which the girls should be very proud. Gold Award pupils will go on to take part in the invitation-only Oxford University Computing Challenge in February.
Congratulations to Year 7 for their outstanding efforts and results, with a special mention to Elise for achieving the highest score in the year, with an impressive 194 points out of a possible 200.
