Creative Writing Prize

One of our Junior School pupils is the youngest winner in this year’s GDST Creative Writing Prize.

The annual competition invites aspiring writers from across the Girls’ Day School Trust to submit short stories. This year, the theme was ‘intelligence’, with entries judged by fiction writer, poet and essayist Victoria MacKenzie, an alumna of another GDST school, Brighton Girls.

Congratulations to Alexa in Year 2 who won the youngest age category with her entry Beanie and the Cherry Blossom Mystery, winning a £50 book voucher.  MacKenzie praised Alexa’s writing: “A beautifully described story of two clever rabbits and a puzzle box; I was so impressed at the vivid images and captivating storytelling.”
