DofE Expedition

Over the Coronation weekend, 45 Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award participants in Year 10 set off on their practice expedition.

Fuelled by some early morning porridge cooked on their trangia stoves, the teams hiked for over 45kms over three days in the beautiful Chilterns, through bluebell forests, rolling hills and open countryside – and even stumbled across the set of the ‘Wicked’ movie! At camp, they bonded over hearty meals, games, and sing-a-longs. Despite a rainy last day of walking, all groups managed to finish in excellent time and in good spirits, and are looking forward to their assessed expedition in the Peak District at the end of June.
