Eco Award Shortlist
South Hampstead has been shortlisted for the Independent Schools of the Year awards in the Environmental Achievement category.
Now in its third year, the awards programme was launched by Independent School Parent magazine. This year, over 250 entries were received for the 20 awards categories, judged by a panel chaired by Dr Helen Wright, past Vice Chair of the Independent Schools Council.
Over the past year, pupils have continued to mobilise Project Zero, with the aim of significantly improving the school’s environmental credentials by our 150th anniversary in 2026. The Eco Committee, our UN accredited climate change teacher and the whole school community have helped to create a vibrant culture of engagement and positive action, even inspiring Mrs Bingham to stop buying new clothes for an entire year – she has now managed over 300 days!
South Hampstead was shortlisted for the award alongside two other GDST schools; the award winner will be announced in the autumn term.
