Eco Poppies
Ahead of Cop27, DT Club students were busy producing biodegradable, ‘flowering’ poppies for Remembrance Day.
At South Hampstead, we aim to create a culture where education for sustainability is truly holistic. Each year, our DT Club students produce special eco Remembrance Day poppies: sustainable, plastic-free poppies, made with biodegradable glue, that can be planted in soil after being worn and grow back as flowers. Parents, staff and pupils can purchase the poppies at school or order online. Last year, students raised over £1600 for The Royal British Legion.
Design & Technology Teacher, Ms Poppy Pearce, commented: “I am so proud of our pupils’ commitment to championing change. These poppies are a creative tribute to those who made sacrifices in the war and an inspiring symbol of hope for a better future.”
