Enterprise Prize
A group of enterprising Sixth Formers picked up the prize for best marketing at this week’s GDST x LSE event.
The GDST Leadership & Enterprise Advanced Diploma (LEAD) was developed in partnership with LSE Generate, the entrepreneurial arm of the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE) – an innovative programme that aims to encourage young women to solve real-world problems and develop transferable skills for future leadership. This year, two teams of South Hampstead Sixth Formers undertook the programme, working with their LSE mentors since last October to develop their creative business ideas. One team, LDNlock, created anti-phone snatching tethers, while the other group, Thrive for 5, created a wellness website with quick tips for young people to help them organise themselves and destress.
At the final showcase event, 230 students from 23 different GDST schools had the opportunity to present their ideas to their peers and judges at LSE, with both our teams delivering impressive pitches. Congratulations to team LDNlock (Alina, Anoushka, Gabriella, Isabel, Ivona, Keya, Maria, Nila, Olesia, Valentina, Victoria) who won the award for best marketing, praised for their ability to foster word of mouth and innovatively deploy social media.
