Feminist Fashion Writers

Five Sixth Form students have written an article on vintage clothes shopping for a new feminist fashion magazine for teenagers.

The Lower Sixth students initially took part in a fashion journalism research project by a final year student at the London College of Fashion, discussing the dichotomy between fashion and feminism. The girls then went on to write an article together for the same student’s magazine. Their piece features in the first issue of Pretty Face, with the girls sharing their insights into second-hand clothes shopping.

The article also showcases the girls’ own photography, including the front cover shot of Lara. Well done to Sonya, Marni, Liana, Elena and Lara for making their voices heard and championing a worthy, environmental cause in a relatable way.

South Hampstead’s own student magazine, The Penguin, featured an article on fast fashion last year, inspiring Mrs Bingham not to buy any new clothes for an entire year.
