GDST Prizes

Each year the Girls’ Day School Trust offer a number of exclusive prizes for our most talented girls.

This year, Alisha was awarded the Mary Gurney Travel Scholarship; named after one of the four founders of the GDST, who died in 1917, this scholarship is for classical or related studies. Alisha is planning to use the money to visit historical locations in France, Greece and Italy after her A Levels in History, English, Classical Civilisation and Politics this summer. Alisha is also the recipient of the GDST Sondheimer Prize – a £1000 prize from Professor Sondheimer in memory of his late wife, Janet.  Alisha joined South Hampstead in Year 7 and plans to read History at university next year.
