High Drama

Our GCSE and A Level Drama students performed visually exciting – and socially-distanced – exam pieces this term.

A level students chose to reinterpret Peter Shaffer’s play Amadeus: their larger than life production, entitled Smooch, focused on the themes of cancel culture and competition in the music industry; encompassing puppetry, music and comedy, they drew inspiration from the eccentric theatre company, Kneehigh. Performed in the Waterlow Hall, to a limited audience of Sixth Formers, the actors embraced the colourful world of glam rock, with expert costumes from Lily and set design by Rose.

GCSE students performed their devised exam pieces in the style of Frantic Assembly. Their work covered issues such as of body dysmorphia and immigration, all performed with a mix of the visually exciting socially-distanced physical style.

Congratulations to all our Drama students on their total dedication to their performance work in a challenging year.
