House Events

The competitive spirit between the Houses continues to flourish this term.

The annual House Music competition was an impressive showcase of talent, with accomplished performances from individuals, ensembles and whole Houses, as well as a courageous clarinet solo by our Head of Chemistry, Mr Arundale, representing Benton.  Congratulations to Potter for their victory. The inimitable House Lip Sync contest followed a few weeks later: an astonishing display of creativity and commitment, as each House choreographed and mimed to tunes by girl bands – well done to Potter on another win!

For this year’s House Bake Off, students produced creative festive delights from around the world. Congratulations to Crinan in the Upper Sixth for her winning showstopper and to Walker for making the most money through sales of their goods – all proceeds go to support Luminary Bakery, a local non-profit bakery who help to empower women.

Other innovative inter-House challenges this term have included Year 8 Chemists designing lab safety posters, Year 9 Biologists specialised cell model building, and competitive tree-decorating, resulting in a kaleidoscopic display of handmade, upcycled ornaments in the gallery.

At the end of 2022, Potter are in the lead, but another two action-packed terms of activities await – from staff House Netball to quizzes, social action and House Fashion.
