Iceland Trip

Over the Easter holidays, students explored the natural wonders of Iceland, with a spectacular sighting of the Northern Lights.

At the end of the spring term, 40 students in Year 10 and above set off on an adventure to see the waterfalls, black beaches, hot springs and glaciers of the Nordic island, and were even lucky enough to enjoy the magnificent natural phenomenon of aurora borealis. Jasmine and Sienna report back on their highlights:

‘We stayed in little cottages in a beautiful setting surrounded by the mountains, where we had the once in a lifetime opportunity to witness the magical Northern Lights. From walking behind waterfalls (and getting extremely wet), to exploring the buzzing capital of Reykjavik, every part of the trip was a new and exciting experience. Not only did we witness incredible geographical sights like glaciers and craters, but we also got to experience them when we went to the secret lagoon and enjoyed a luxurious spa day. However, seeing the sights was not the only fun we had, thanks to our long coach rides spent singing iconic songs! We had a very informative and friendly tour guide, so we were also learning lots along the way. Iceland is a place filled with unforgettable natural wonders – we would definitely recommend visiting if you have the chance.’
