Leavers’ Celebrations
Despite their cancelled leavers’ ball, the Class of 2021 continued to celebrate in socially-distanced style.
The Sixth Form team rolled out the red carpet to give this year’s leavers a fitting send-off, despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic. Students, teachers and tutors said fond farewells outside over drinks and cake on the roof garden, before a carefully orchestrated, valedictory prizegiving ceremony in Waterlow Hall, live-streamed to parents.
Mrs Bingham praised the whole year group for their grace, kindness and good humour throughout a challenging year. Students were presented with a specially selected book, with a range of prizes awarded for academic excellence and South Hampstead spirit, before Head Girl Eliza delivered her final address. Mrs Bingham and Mr White, inspired by the students’ ‘retrospective’ performance earlier in the week, bravely tackled their own memorable rendition duet of Kelly Clarkson’s Since U Been Gone, which received a standing ovation.
We wish our Class of 2021 ‘Mehr Licht’ and the very best of luck for whatever lies ahead – we look forward to welcoming you back.
