Magazine Awards

Our student magazine team was recognised at the national Shine Media Awards, with commendations in three categories.

This year’s Editors in Chief and Head of Visuals & Design were invited to attend the ceremony at the Royal Overseas League alongside other shortlisted schools.  The team spent the morning attending workshops with industry professionals from leading media companies and were delighted to pick up three different ‘highly commended’ awards: Best Overall Content; Best Illustration (Upper Sixth Art Scholar, Misha); and the Terry Mansfield CBE Award for Tomorrow’s Talent (Ella in the Lower Sixth).

The team commented: “We had an amazing day and met lots of other school magazine editors – it was an invaluable experience.”

South Hampstead’s magazine, The Penguin, has been running for several years, designed and produced by a dedicated team of students.
