Maths Medals
Over 150 of our pupils have been awarded medals in this year’s UK Maths Trust Intermediate Challenge.
The UK Maths Trust, a charity promoting problem-solving skills, runs a series of competitions each year. The Intermediate Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple choice paper that encourages mathematical reasoning and precision of thought for pupils in Year 9, 10 and 11. Congratulations to our Mathematicians who were awarded medals – 22 Gold, 46 Silver and 83 Bronze – with a special mention to our ‘best in year’ scorers: Iris in Year 9, Valentina in Year 11, and ‘best in school’, Jiamu in Year 10.
Ten of our pupils were ranked amongst the top 8,000 students in the country and have been invited to the follow-on Kangaroo rounds; well done to Coco, Emily, Iris and Marina in Year 9; Margarita and Tilly in Year 10; and Gabriella, Rosie, Sophia and Valentina in Year 11. Meanwhile Ava and Jiamu in Year 10 have been invited to participate in the Hamilton Olympiad, an even more competitive follow-on round for the top 1,500 scorers in the UK. We wish them all the best of luck.
