Motivational Monday – Co-Founder & CEO

Class of 2011 alumna Sasha Haco joined a panel of trailblazing GDST alumnae to discuss the importance of championing girls’ futures.

Sasha is the Co-Founder and CEO of Unitary, which aims to make the internet safer. Unitary works with social platforms, providing AI-powered technology to proactively detect harmful content and keep online spaces safe. Before founding Unitary, Sasha did a PhD at Cambridge where she worked with Stephen Hawking on the black hole information paradox.

Recently, Sasha was part of a trailblazing panel of GDST alumnae celebrating the UN’s Day of the Girl. Leading the panel was GDST CEO, Cheryl Giovannoni, who was intrigued to learn about Sasha’s motivation for creating change. When asked about finding her voice to make a positive difference to the world, Sasha answered that starting her own company gave her the requisite impetus and drive; although she didn’t have a background in AI or business, she saw a problem that she wanted to solve.

“I would like to see girls dreaming really big and not feeling held back by anything in society and having the confidence to give things a try.”
