National Ski Champion

Congratulations to our ski team, who start the year with podium places and a double-champion in the Junior School.

The UK artificial ski season culminated with two races in Manchester and Sunderland over the summer; congratulations to Sylvia (now in Year 5) who won both races to be crowned the 2021 British Indoor Champion and the 2021 All England Champion in the U10 age group!

Our ski squad then started the term with some great performances at the Hemel Club Championships; our U10 and U12 skiers took gold, silver and bronze, with Evie in Year 7 winning the overall U12 Club Championship trophy. The seniors, racing full gates and pro slalom up against GB team skiers, placed 2nd, 5th and 6th in the U14s; 3rd, 4th and 5th in the U16s; and 3rd in the U18s. The seniors went on to excel at the British Schoolgirls indoor race in Milton Keynes: the A team (Hannah, Momo and Maddy) placed 2nd overall, while the B team (Millie, Melissa and Carla) and C team (Rosa, Tamara and Emilie) both won their respective categories – fantastic performances by all 12 skiers was testament to their dedication as well as our new coaching team, CDC, which includes ex GB skier, Charlie Luke, and former World Cup alpine ski racer, Chemmy Alcott.
