Psychology Cup

Two teams of A Level students qualified for this year’s GDST Psychology Cup and, excitingly, picked up the trophy for the second year running.

Our Lower Sixth Psychology students have been conducting some fascinating independently designed research projects over the course of this term; last week, two teams were selected to present their findings at GDST Head Office alongside other qualifying teams from across the UK.  The winning team investigated students’ reactions to being observed whilst solving challenging problems; despite the students not claiming to feel more anxious, they noted increased heart rates when they were watched by teachers rather than their peers. Well done to Ariella, Flo, Honor, Oyuka and Zara who gave a compelling presentation of their work and came away with a prize for the most confident team as well as winning the trophy, following in the footsteps of last year’s South Hampstead winners.
