Royal Free Partnership

We are delighted to be partnering with the Royal Free Charity and look forward to developing more ways to collaborate.

Many of our pupils have a close association with the Royal Free Hospital, either through their parents’ work or because members of their family have been treated there. This time last year,  our Year 7 families raised money to provide much-needed coffee and freshly cooked meals for front line workers and our Junior School have supported their charity through a range of fundraising activities over the past two years.

We have now created a partnership with the Royal Free Charity so that we can work together in the future to support the hospital trust and to provide opportunities for our pupils to volunteer and learn about the work of the charity.

This term, we were delighted to welcome Zoe Oliver from the hospital, who came to talk to aspiring medics about youth volunteering and how they can apply for the Royal Free summer programme.  Students were also invited to join the prestigious Marsden Lecture series and listen to the most recent talk from Dame Kate Bingham DBE about the development and roll-out of the Covid vaccine in the UK.

Catherine Sykes, Head of Community at the Royal Free, commented: “We are delighted to be working with South Hampstead. We share many community connections and the pupils have given us wonderful support in the past through their fundraising activities. We hope there are many more areas where we can work together, and we look forward to introducing the school to our volunteering programmes and events.”
