Science Programme Selection
A Sixth Form Scientist has been selected to work as part of a research team with the Weizmann Institute this summer.
Every summer since 1969, the Dr Bessie F Lawrence International Summer Science Institute brings together 80 highly talented 18 to 20-year-old students from all over the world to experience the challenges and rewards of scientific research. Congratulations to Talia who has been accepted for this year’s month-long programme in Israel. Talia is sitting A Levels in Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths this summer and hopes to study Natural Sciences at university next year. After her exams, she will spend a month working as part of a research team alongside leading scientists at the Weizmann Institute of Science. As well as getting the chance to conduct real scientific experiments, participating students produce reports and present their findings to their peers before spending a week in a field school where they experience the diverse ecosystems, wildlife, and archaeology of the region – a fantastic hands-on experience for one of our aspiring scientists.
