Sport Relief
The school community helped the GDST cover the distance between the North and South Poles earlier this month.
Two years ago, GDST schools came together to ‘Run the World’, covering 24,955 miles to raise money for the charity, Sport Relief. For 2020, all GDST schools united to cover the distance from the North to South Pole, with each school allocated a leg of the relay. Girls from Year 3 to the Sixth Form, as well as staff, collectively smashed our target of 1022km – the distance from N’Djamena in Chad to Bangui in the Central African Republic.
Well done to all our whole school community who ran over Hampstead Heath, sprinted at the sports ground and pedalled furiously at their spin classes – a great team effort that raised £5,000 for vulnerable people in both the UK and the world’s poorest countries.
Since the school closure, the PE department has shared lots of resources and ideas for exercising at home; we hope the girls are equipped and enthused to keep moving.
