STEM on Global Stage
Top teacher speaks out at global conference in Dubai about how to encourage more girls into Science.
Having been selected as one of the top 50 teachers for the Global Teacher Prize by the Varkey Foundation, South Hampstead Physics Teacher Ms Russo was invited to talk at this year’s Global Education and Skills Forum in Dubai on the topic: ‘A World of 50:50 – getting girls into STEM’. Ahead of the conference, she was featured in the Evening Standard, praised for her efforts to encourage more girls to consider careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Ms Russo commented: “It was a fantastic opportunity to meet and hear from a wide range of people working in education and education policy. It was also a privilege to be given the platform to speak about how to make an impact on girls studying STEM subjects with other experienced teachers, and how to encourage better representation through supporting girls and their interests.”
