Student vs Staff Triathlon

With lockdown preventing our usual annual Staff vs Student Netball fundraiser, the charity team mobilised an online alternative.

The Sixth Form charity team organised a series of events to be completed at home, with some of our most accomplished Sixth Form athletes taking on some of our most competitive teachers.  The three challenges were running, planks and, to mark world yoga day, sun salutations.

The students took an early lead on day one. Stealthy, downhill route tactics were employed to achieve some impressive times on the 10 minute run, with Sixth Former Lula outpacing the staff and notching up 2.65km. The teachers fought back on day two, with Ms Hruska and Ms Aneja’s abs of steel taking them into the lead with impressive 6 minute planks.  With everything to play for on the final day,  the teachers stretched and lunged their way to victory, with Ms Aneja, Ms Brass, Dr Osborne, Miss Scahill, Mr Wharton and Mr Willett all managing over 100 downward facing dogs.

The school community was encouraged to support by donating to our new school charity, with the event raising funds for Teenage Cancer Trust.
