Theology Commendation

Sixth Form student Awele has been commended in the John Locke Institute 2021 global essay competition.

The John Locke Institute aims to embolden the best and brightest students to become more academically ambitious and intellectually adventurous. Their annual essay prize invites students to explore a wide range of challenging questions beyond the confines of the school curriculum in a variety of subject areas, including Philosophy, Economics, Politics and Law.  Awele’s commended essay, in the Theology category, responded to the question: Did God create coronavirus? 

Awele, who is in the Upper Sixth and studying for A Levels in Economics, English and History, joined the other shortlisted essayists in Oxford for an academic conference and awards ceremony dinner.  This year’s competition attracted over four thousand entries from 101 countries.
