Top Climber

One of our Sixth Formers has placed fourth in the UK at this year’s British Mountaineering Council Youth Climbing Series.

Following her success at the London North rounds, Chiara in the Lower Sixth qualified for the grand final of the national climbing competition for the second time. This year’s two-day event took place in Leeds, with 30 of the UK’s top climbers competing in her category. Following impressive performances in both the roped and bouldering rounds, Chiara placed fourth in the country – an outstanding achievement, testament to her dedication to the sport. Chiara started climbing aged 7 and began competing at the age of 10, when she was a pupil at the Junior School. She continues to climb independently outside school as well as playing for the school’s U18 netball team.  Chiara is also an Academic Scholar, currently studying for A Levels in Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths, and is considering applying to study Chemical Engineering or Biochemistry at university.
