Trips Resume
With numerous trips postponed due to the pandemic, it’s been a joy for pupils to get out again this term to expand their horizons.
In the Junior School, Year 6 enjoyed a trip to Europe’s oldest surviving surgical theatre this week, for some hands-on learning about Georgian medical practices. Year 4 ventured to St Alban’s, spending the day immersed in Roman life at the Verulamium Museum, dressed as Romans and exploring an excavated theatre, while Sixth Form Classicists enjoyed a visit to the Nero exhibition at The British Museum. Other day trips for Senior School pupils have included a visit to The National Gallery, where A Level Art Historians discussed Renaissance art; an Academic Scholars’ Trip to the museums of Greenwich; and a visit to Guildford’s Advanced Performance Lab for our Going for Gold athletes in Years 8 to 10, for specialised fitness testing.
Residential trips have included our new Sixth Form induction Woodland Welcome, camping out in Epping Forest; a fieldwork trip to Flatford Mill, for our Year 11 Geographers; and the long-awaited PGL adventure for Year 8. We look forward to expanding our programme to include more trips, including visits abroad, as soon as travel guidance allows.
