Upper Sixth Leavers
For the first time since 2019, our Upper Sixth students are off on study leave.
With the usual rite of passage curtailed by the pandemic for the past two years, it has been a joy to give Upper Sixth students a proper send-off this term, ahead of their A Levels. During their final week of lessons, students embraced a variety of creative outfit themes, dressing up as their teachers (with some uncanny likenesses) and what they first wanted to be when they were younger – the common room was filled barristers and baristas, spies and cheerleaders, forensic scientists and construction workers, as well as a fairy.
On their last day in school, students donned their iconic yellow shirts, signed by teachers and classmates, before receiving their yearbooks and leavers’ hoodies on the roof garden. At their final assembly, Mrs Bingham, Ms Brass and Mr White imparted some words of wisdom and celebrated their time at the school. For the traditional ‘retrospective’, Rebecca (as a very convincing Mrs Bingham) delivered a special assembly, interspersed with video snippets of an inimitable school tour as well as cameos from teachers. At the subsequent celebratory lunch in Oakwood, the Sixth Form team bid the cohort a fond farewell, praising them for their energy, commitment and positive outlooks.
We wish our wonderful class of 2022 the very best of luck in their forthcoming exams and look forward to celebrating at their valedictory ceremony and leavers’ ball in July.
