Waterlow Hall fundraising steps up
The fabulous Senior School production of ‘Into the Woods’ this week marked the start of the public stage of our Waterlow Hall fundraising campaign.
Our vision is to create a new cultural and creative heart at South Hampstead – a stunning, state-of-the-art hall where we can welcome back our alumnae, welcome in the surrounding community, and showcase the talent of our girls – and inspire pupils for generations to come.
We need to raise £3 million to complete this project and have secured over 70% of this target already. Pupils have been busy designing postcards, making badges, baking cakes and doing various sponsored activities for our ‘Shine a light’ appeal, which provides a range of opportunities to have your name remembered and emblazoned within the new hall. Clara in Year 7 (whose name even means ‘light’) was the very first pupil to secure her name in lights, following her sponsored swim to raise £150.
Other ambassadors for the campaign include numerous South Hampstead alumnae in the performing arts: model Daisy Lowe, Young Vic Executive Director Despina Tsatsas, concert pianist Joanna MacGregor OBE (a former music scholar at South Hampstead) and other world-class musicians and performers.
We are eager to get everyone to join in and contribute in whatever way they are able. For more details on how to get involved, please visit www.waterlowhall.com or contact development@shhs.gdst.net With your help, we can start the project in July 2019 and look forward to making this vision a reality.
