Wellness Week
Our students organised a host of wellbeing-focused sessions to coincide with Children’s Mental Health Week.
For our annual Wellness Week, Sixth Formers organised an array of enriching activities, from form-time meditation sessions and cheerful tunes in the atrium to pedal-powered spinach smoothie-making. They also introduced dopamine menus, encouraging pupils to curate their own, personalised list of healthy activities to boost their happiness, focus and motivation.
Teachers accompanied more than 50 pupils (and Maple the school dog) on a sunny mid-week walk, exploring the cobbled streets of Belsize Village for some lunchtime vitamin D, whilst a trio of Year 9 pupils sold dozens of homemade lavender bags, with proceeds supporting our plans to transform the roof terrace for more outdoor learning and activities such as yoga and Pilates.
Deputy Head Girl for Wellness, Noa, commented: “We planned a range of activities to focus on different definitions of wellness, including a panel interview assembly, band performances, party games, dancing, and open discussions about body positivity and stigmatised women’s health issues. Thank you so much to everyone involved for embracing such an uplifting week.”
Wellness Lead, Ms Pearce, added: “There was incredible engagement across all year groups and the activities had such a great turn out. The whole school pulled together to make this week happen which shows the incredible strength of our community – we are grateful for everyone’s hard work and dedication.”
